Solas Na Coinnile sends out a warm welcome to people of every denomination, as it opens a doorway with the intention of providing a tranquil sacred space for people who have been touched by cancer, their families, friends and carers.

Solas Na Coinnile: A place of freedom where they can spend quality time to rest awhile from their busy daily schedules hence, allowing breathing space as they come to terms with their life’s own personal journey.

Peace and tranquillity is the essence at Solas Na Coinnile, where each moment drifts by very gently and slowly, allowing time for deep reflection, relaxation and the holistic nurturing of body, mind and spirit, thus enabling each person to re-connect with the roots of their own deeper fundamental nature.

We at Solas Na Coinnile have a goal to acquire suitable premises in order to create a safe and sacred space for those who may need to have some personal time after they’re traumatic experience of cancer. This will be a residential centre, which will include facilities to support each person, with many opportunities for relaxation and revival. Set in peaceful surroundings of nature and tranquillity.

Our Centre will be designed to serve as a supportive aide to medical management. It’s important to note however that it will not provide any medical care. Our intent is to offer this service at a reduced cost to all who will visit, so we rely on the support and generosity of many individual donors and corporate sponsors.

Like many people who have survived cancer, it is normal to have concerns about your future and how you will cope!

You may feel:

  • Isolated, anxious, frightened and abandoned: Who can I talk to now, and who will answer all my questions?

At Solas Na Coinnile we know the life-changing experience that cancer brings to mind, body and spirit. The impact cancer has on families, friends and carers. No one should suffer in silence or feel isolated.

  • Lacking in confidence: Many people say that they lose their self-confidence, and find it difficult to trust their body again. They worry about getting used to living with the changes that their cancer treatment has caused to their body image and sexuality?

Solas Na Coinnile will assist you in re-building inner-confidence, and help you recover a sense of belonging.

  • Frustrated and in Limbo: Is it safe for me to make new plans for my future? How will I begin my life all over again, now that nothing feels secure or stable anymore?

We here at Solas Na Coinnile support each visitor on their own individual journey. Guide them in making more informed choices about their future and well-being.

  • Worried & concerned about possible long-term side effects: Will my work be affected, as well as my social life, relationships and hobbies?

At Solas Na Coinnile we will make available information, education and recreational programmes and services; and provide a range of therapeutic holistic therapies.

  • Unsure about relationships with your family and friends: Will they understand or will they be expecting too much?

Many Cancer survivors say that people very close to them don’t really understand how much help they still need? They may expect you to be back to ‘normal’ much faster than is possible? Your recovery may take a lot longer than your treatment did. So this may come as a shock to both you and your family. Everyone wants things to be easier, less stressful and more enjoyable. But this isn’t always possible, and can be disappointing.

Let your family and friends know that you understand how hard it is for them as well. Tell them how much you value all they have already done to help you. But you still need their support. For life to move forward, it is important that everyone finds a way to cope. As you build your ‘new’ life with those close to you, things are likely to become so much easier. This can take time and patience but many Cancer Survivors say their new life has more meaning and is often more fulfilling.

We are dedicated to share our love and support everyday in every way.

At Solas Na Coinnile we encourage you to laugh again, with a renewed sense of hope.
